Techni'Sens, who are we?
We are a marketing studies and sensory institute, we offer tests on common consumer products, such as :food, hygiene and cosmetics products, food for cats and dogs, etc.
Our tests can be done both at home and/or atone of our two institutes in La Rochelle and Mérignac (Bordeaux).
How to become a Techni'Sens tester?
To be a part in our consumer panel, it is very easy: click here and follow the instructions.
Once your account is validated, remember to fill out your profile survey! Thanks to this survey, we will be able to offer you tests that fits to your tastes and habits.
Registration on our site is completely free and without obligation. Finally, you are free to unsubscribe at any time via your personal account.
How does a test take place?
Home test: you receive the products directly at home (or you can pick them up at one of our institutes, if you live nearby). Afterwards, nothing could be easier, you will have to follow the protocol that will be provided in your package and answer the questionnaires sent by email on the scheduled dates.
Test in one of our institutes: we will call to let you know the test’s date and time (a reminder sms will also be sent the same day). Once you arrive, a member of our team will guide you through the session.
What is the point of becoming a tester?
Being a tester at Techni’Sens means taking part in the development process of many products by simply giving your opinion! We can also ask you about the visual, the taste or the use of these products.
Our main objective is to help our clients create and market products that meet your expectations and needs. To do so, we will analyze all your answers from the questionnaires in order to make concrete recommendations to our clients.
Moreover, it allows you to discover exclusive products before they are put on the market and to be rewarded (gift card or free product) after each test.
Why am I rarely or never asked to do anything?
You might be called to do more or less tests depending on the month. Don’t panic, it’s perfectly normal.
The reasons for non-selection can be various: either the product to be tested does not correspond to your profile, or you correspond to the product but the quota of participants was reached before we contacted you.
Selection for a test depends on many criteria. If only one is missing, you might not be selected. Nevertheless, each test is different. In the meantime, we invite you to wait a little.
It is also possible that our emails are in your spam folder. If this is the case, we advise you to add Techni’Sens to the list of your approved senders. If the problem persists, please contact us or give us a different email address.
Is my personal information confidential?
Techni’Sens’ sole purpose is to carry out marketing studies. Your data will never be used for commercial purposes.
Your answers via the questionnaires you complete are treated in the strictest confidence. They will not be transmitted to third parties under any circumstances.
In accordance with the French Data Protection Act of January 6, 1978, you have the right to access, modify and rectify your personal data.
Can anyone become a tester?
Everyone can participate in the tests offered by Techni’Sens: adults, teenagers and children.
Even your pets can be asked to test new products! Don’t forget to mention them in your profile survey.
For teen/child tests, as long as they are minors, there is no need to create a personal account for them. If you mentioned them in your profile survey, they are part of our panel. Before each participation, we will always ask for a signed consent from parents or legal guardians.
How does the selection process work?
First of all, as soon as your profile matches the product to be tested, we send you a pre-selection questionnaire. You can also find the link to the questionnaire in your Tester’s area. Each time you have a few hours to several days to respond.
Then, if you match the profile defined by our study, a member of our team will can you and explain the test process: the product, the duration and the compensation method (gift certificate or product offered).
However, if you are not selected, you will not be notified.
Your participation is free, you are in no way required to answer all the questionnaires we send you. However, if your account has been inactive for more than 2 years, we might delete it. Don’t panic, you will be warned beforehand.
What types of tests do you offer?
We offer tests at home and tests at one of our two institutes in La Rochelle and Bordeaux-Mérignac. We also offer discussion groups (also called “focus groups”), individual interviews (by videoconference or at the institute) as well as sessions with our Expert Panel, a group of panelists trained in sensory analysis techniques.
You will be asked to test different categories of products: sweet and/or savoury food, drinks, cosmetics, hygiene, etc. Your pets (dogs and cats) will also be able to participate and test treats or kibbles.
It is important to note that all the products tested are already or will soon be commercialized. Our studies come after the microbiological analyses and tolerance tests. Also, you can consume/use the products without fear for your health or safety.
Are the tests paid for?
You are rewarded after each test: you receive either a gift card (minimum amount of 8€) or a free product.
Participants in the institute tests receive a paper gift card, while home testers receive a dematerialized gift card. They can be used in a multitude of stores from different universes: food, culture, sports, beauty, landscaping, gardening, etc.

Can I know the brand of the product I just tested?
Unfortunately no, we are not in a commercial approach towards our consumer panel. We are also bound by confidentiality to our clients.

Discover our institutes
Our teams can be reached by phone at 05 46 66 03 57, from Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5pm.
Both institutes are open for your in-room tests and product distributions (by appointment only).
Our sites are easily accessible and have free parking.
The Mérignac institute will be accessible by tramway in spring 2023 with the extension of line A.
